HARI Foundation Inc. (HFI) executives, Chairman Richard L. Lee (3rd from right), Board Member Edward S. Go (4th from right), and HFI President Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo (6th from right) welcomed South Korean delegates from the Global Competitiveness Economic Forum (GCEF) to share HFI’S best practices in humanitarian advocacies at the Hyundai CSR Action Learning Program. The activity was held on February 19, 2014 at the Hyundai Center for Green Innovation (HGCI). Heading the South Korean delegation were GCEF Executive President Angela Joo-Hyun Kang (5th from left) and Hyundai Motor Company Senior Manager of CSR Team NA Mi-Jin.

February 19, 2014, Angat, Bulacan. HARI Foundation, Inc. (HFI), the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), welcomed 15 South Korean delegates from the Global Competitiveness Economic Forum (GCEF), Hyundai Motor Company (HMC), and selected non-governmental organizations to the Hyundai Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Action Learning Program.

The Hyundai CSR Action Learning Program is a knowledge sharing event that highlights HFI’s years of socio-civic efforts. Highlighted are HFI’s core advocacies—education for national development, environmental sustainability, health, social entrepreneurship, women and youth empowerment, and community development.

HFI Chairman Richard L. Lee, President Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, and Board Member Edward S. Go personally welcomed the South Korean delegates. Gawad Kalinga Founder Tony Meloto toured the group around GK Enchanted Farm grounds where HCGI is located. During the Hyundai CSR Action Learning Program, the Korean delegates learned about HFI’s socio-civic activities that aim to make a positive difference in various sectors of Philippine society. The HCGI, which was inaugurated last year, is a concrete expression of HFI and Gawad Kalinga’s shared pursuit to build empowered, self-sustaining communities from the grassroots.

“’Together We Can for a Better Tomorrow’ is HARI Foundation’s mantra to inspire unity and camaraderie among various stakeholders to work towards a better future,” said Ms. Agudo. “Through the Hyundai CSR Action Learning Program, we believe that by sharing our milestone projects with our Korean CSR counterparts, we can help fast-track our goals towards building a progressive, competitive, and innovative country, thus, helping the world in the process.”

“We thank HFI for the great hospitality and impeccable preparation for our visit in the Philippines,” said GCEF Executive President Angela Joo-Hyun Kang. “We are deeply impressed and many of us think that our HARI Foundation, Inc. visit was one of our most fruitful visits.”
