Ms. Angela Joo-Hyun Kang, Founder and CEO of GCEF (Global Competitiveness Empowerment Forum) advised the survey about "CSR Status and Good Practices of Korean Corporations Operationg Overseas" of Kotra (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) organized and implemented by Asia Team of Kotra

Asia Team of Kotra surveyed 201 companies operating in 10 countries through Kotra Business Centers.

* 10 countries - Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Russia and Vietnam

Results of the survey with good practics was published as Global Issue Report 10-010 in December, 10, 2010 (Attached below)

Implications were found as followings:

- Companies doing CSR is 40% and ones not doing is 60%. Small and medium enterprises are behind in CSR management comparied with large companies.

- Activities of companies doing CSR are mainly employee welfare or corporate giving for the poor
and the companies found benefits in aspects of good labor-management relations, community engagemnent,
social license to operate etc.

- Korean companies have purposes for doing CSR mainly such as
getting intangible effects such as social contribution or employee rolalty and pride.
They less pursue CSR for tangible effects like making grounds for new market opportunities or marketing strategy.
They don't measure outputs or outcomes of CSR activities because they see CSR as just benevolent actions.

- The challenges not doing CSR were identified as followings:
Lack of knowledge about CSR concept
Lack of knowledge what kind of local CSR could be suitable
Burden of CSR expense
